About Robert Lichtman

In 1996, I started studying the Bates Method with David Glassman of London. In addition to eyesight improvement, David Glassman also introduced me to the Alexander Technique and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Not only did my vision begin to clear, but for the first time I was able to free myself of headaches and to not see double. After studying natural eyesight and natural healing with several other teachers around the world, including Ilana Tsur of Jerusalem, Dr. Marilyn Rosanes-Berrett of New York, Thomas Quackenbush, and Dr. Douglas Morrison, my vision continued to improve. My primary interest has been to pinpoint exactly why eyesight improvement does not always work and to carefully guide my students through the process so as to avoid the common mistakes students make and many Bates teachers miss. This has made my teaching very effective for improving eyesight, relaxing chronic tension, and releasing mental strain.

My method is to help people not only to improve their vision, but also to remove the mental stumbling blocks to clarity. My work combines an encouraging concern for my students with knowledge, experience, and good humor.
